KOPAONIK

Ski resort Kopaonik is one of the greatest ski resorts in the southeast part of Europe. It is 230 km far from Belgrade, in the central part of our country. The “Sunny Mountain”, one of the most beautiful mountains in Serbia, is characterized by extremely favorable climate with more than 200 sunny days per year. Snow covering at the Kopaonik lasts in average between 180 and 230 days per year, and the first precipitation starts already in November.

Extremely favorable climate conditions and geographic location represent a great potential for development of both summer and winter tourism. This well-known tourist resort gives possibilities to visitors to prove their skiing skills at the first-class prepared ski runs. Ski resort Kopaonik comprises of 55 km of arranged runs for alpine skiing and 12 km for Nordic disciplines. The ski run “Malo jezero” is prepared for night skiing. In order weather conditions not to spoil enjoyment of Kopaonik visitors, ski resort is equipped with system for artificial snowing that gives the opportunity of covering 70% of ski resort with artificial snow. Ski slopes that are covered by the system for artificial snowing are: Karaman A i B, Pancicev vrh, Duboka 1 i 2, Sunčana dolina, Malo jezero, Krst, Krčmar, Kneževske bare, Mali Karaman, Marine vode, Karaman and ski ways. All the runs are connected by a system of chairlifts and ski lifts; total capacity is 32,000 skiers per hour. This system comprises of one six-seater chairlift (total capacity 3.000 skiers per hour) 4 four-seater chairlifts (total capacity 10.000 skiers per hour), 3 fixed four-seater with magic carpets for loading skiers (total capacity 6.200 skiers per hour), 3 two-seaters of the capacity 3.600 skiers per hour, 10 ski lifts and 3 ski lifts binding. In addition to the runs for alpine and Nordic disciplines, ski resort Kopaonik has also a skating rink and a snowboard park where many local and international competitions are organized. The ski center is equipped with conveyor belt and carousel for children.

ZLATIBOR

Zlatibor, the most accustomed tourist resort in Serbia, is located in the South-West part of the country, 220 km far from Belgrade. Average altitude of this mountain highland is 1,000 m, surrounded by peaks Tornik (1,496 m), Cigota (1,422 m) and many others.

Due to a moderate continental climate and Mediterranean air streams, Zlatibor is declared an air health resort. Zlatibor has developed into a famous ski resort with the longest tradition in Serbia due to its vast glades, golden pines even under snow, clean air, great number of sunny days in the year and beautiful ski runs. Ski resort “Tornik” is located at altitude between 1,110 m and 1,490 m, 9 km far away from the tourist center of the resort.

Four ski runs (Cigota, Tornik, Ribnica and Zmajevac) are reconstructed and widened. The most contemporary newly built six-seater chairlift and ski lifts make Tornik a ski resort of exceptional quality, admired by skiers of different categories. Capacity of the six-seater is 3,000 skiers per hour, with the speed of five meters per second, with 99 seats and length of 1,650 meters. It starts from 1,111 meters above sea level and climbs almost to the top of the peak Tornik – to 1,485 meters. Two ski lifts have capacity of 2,400 skiers per hour, so that this resort is capable of transporting 5,400 skiers per hour.

In ski resort there is a new type of installation so. "Tjubing", which allows sledding on tires throughout the year. Tjubing, and the lift itself, can be used in summer and winter period of the year and provides immense satisfaction and excitement to all who decide to try out.

Ski resort Tornik is equipped with system of artificial snowing system. The ski center is also equipped with a children's playground and carousel.

STARA PLANINA

Stara planina is the biggest mountain in the East Serbia and presents one of the most important natural beauties in the country. Although still “unrevealed”, it belongs to the group of the main tourist centers and destinations, and as such, it is ranked as a priority tourist offer of Serbia.

This mountain resort has indisputable potential for development of both winter and summer tourism. The climate of Stara planina is continental-mountain with snow covering during five months of the year. It is an exceptional potential for development and construction of world standard ski resorts.

“Babin zub” (with its peak at altitude of 1,758 m above sea level) is one of the most beautiful landscapes of Stara planina. Ski runs at locations “Konjarnik” and “Suncana dolina” make the content of the ski resort. Ski resort “Babin zub” has a newly built four-seater chairlift “Konjarnik” with magic carpet for loading skiers, with capacity of 1,500 skiers per hour, and a T-bar towing lift “Suncana dolina”, with capacity of 1,200 skiers per hour.

In addition, the ski resort Stara planina is equipped with system of artificial snowing system, so that, in case of lack of natural snow, visitors will definitely be able to enjoy winter sports.

Stara planina will very soon become one of the greatest and the most important ski resorts in Serbia after building the system of chairlifts and ski runs, as well as accommodation capacities and other infrastructure, specially intended for admirers of ski sports and high quality skiing in the environment of immense beauty and unspoiled nature.
